Have you never heard of online personal training or online coaching before? Maybe you have, but you don't understand how an online coach could help you achieve your fitness goals? One thing is for sure; online training is not suitable for everybody, but there is an increasing demand for it.
At CD Fitness I provide online fitness coaching services, primarily for busy professionals whose schedule can change last minute or who often travel thus not able to commit to regular in-person sessions. In this article, I bring you 5 reasons why I think online coaching will become the new norm, especially as people will become more and more educated in nutrition, exercise and a healthy lifestyle in general.
1. Easy Access
The Internet is accessible from almost everywhere and with the development of new software, technology and systems, fitness coaches are now able to reach many more people and vice-versa.
Have you always wanted to work with a specialist coach but you don't have one available in your area? Whether that's a strength & conditioning, bodybuilding coach or a fat loss expert, I guarantee there will be someone on the internet which provides an online service that suits your needs.
Sticking to your workout plan has never been easier. Have you ever been in a situation where you had to cancel your workout session due to a last-minute work emergency? Worry no more.
When you work with an online trainer, your workout plan will be available to you at all times so you can complete your workouts on your terms at a time and location that suits you the best.
3. Ongoing Support
Many personal trainers deliver amazing sessions face-to-face, share a wealth of knowledge, then you don't hear from them until your next workout. That's mostly because the great trainers will have a fully booked schedule and much less capacity to check-in with you.
I check-in with my personal training clients regularly to help them out if they have a question. However, the CD Fitness App I use for online fitness coaching provides a much more direct communication channel. I can see when clients hit their targets, and also if they are behind so, I can be there to support them when they need me the most. I am the PT in their pocket.
You may wonder why online fitness coaching in general costs less than personal training. The answer is simple. The trainers don't have to pay rent, potentially overheads if they run their sessions from a facility, or spend valuable time and money on travelling between clients if they come to you.
When working with an online personal trainer, many of the "physical" costs are not relevant, so you really pay for the wealth of knowledge, expertise and time your coach puts in to design the best lifestyle plan for your unique fitness goals.
I, for instance, offer a variety of packages depending on your goals. However, if you are not sure yet if online fitness coaching is for you, you can enrol in the monthly package to test the waters before you commit to anything long-term.
Online coaching is ideal for those who already have a good understanding of physical activity, are not afraid of working out on their own, are ready to make changes to their lifestyle and don't need face-to-face accountability to complete the workouts and to adhere to the plan.
