6 Of The Best Reason To Hire An Online Personal Trainer

In this day and age you can’t seem to turn on the TV without being reminded about the latest health trend. It was only the other day I was flicking through the channels and I come across an advert about a healthy yogurt with zero percent fat (they didn’t mention how much sugar was in it to make it taste nice), that’s a topic for another day. The next channel was advertising a vibration plate with a new technology that will actually shake the fat away. You can see it’s easy to get confused with the right method to get fit and healthy. One way of achieving your fitness goal is making the decision to hire a personal trainer. They are highly trained and will know the best way for you to achieve your goals.

Here are my six benefits of hiring an online PT.
Efficiency

This is a key aspect to you as a client. The personal trainer will make the most of the time you have with them in a session. For example during your 1 hour session with your PT,  for some reason you have to cut that session short. By letting them know at the beginning of your session they will be able to adapt the session for to still benefit from it and feel like you have worked your butt off.

Having a fitness programme designed by a personal trainer makes your time in the gym more efficient as it is based on your needs. If you can make it to the gym for 3 hrs a week, that breaks down to three, one hour sessions. They will build you the programme to make sure it fits in with your busy lifestyle.
Accountability

Having been a personal trainer for a number of years speaking to numerous prospective clients. One of the main issues that come up time and again is that people have tried working out before, then after a month they feel they have done enough or got bored with their current workout. When you exercise on your own, it doesn’t take a science paper to tell you it’s easier to skip a workout, do less reps or  stop running when you feel a little tired. You only need to do this once or twice and you fall off the wagon completely. It then becomes you like the idea of working out but never get round to it. This is all down to the fact there is no one but yourself to hold you accountable for your actions. Working with a personal trainer keeps you accountable, therefore making you more likely to stick to the programme and in turn you will see results meaning you will work harder to maintain your new look.
Motivation

This is key to your success, if you are motivated you will succeed, after all you are investing time and money into your own health why wouldn’t you be motivated. With regular sessions with your personal trainer you will start to not only see the difference in your technique, the weights will also go up and your body will start to changes. Of course I know it’s not in everyone’s interest to be a bodybuilder so it’s crucial to get the balance of weight training and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) right.

The personal trainer is there to motivate you through the tough times as well as the good times. We understand you have a life out with the gym and there are stress through work and family life resulting in a lack of motivation for your session. It’s ok to speak about it and i have seen myself spend time with a client in tears in the cafe but once it out in the open she kicked the hell out of the session and felt a million times better than she did when she arrived.

When people don’t see the results come as quickly as they would like they can quickly become disheartened and lack the motivation to continue. Having a personal trainer is a great way to see progress as they will motivate you during your workout and help you see the progress you've made. You will also get the satisfaction of seeing your improvement of where you have come from as your exercises get harder and the programme continues.

I am going to be totally honest here and say that even personal trainers need motivation, there have been a number of times where I haven’t had the get up and go but knowing that if I put the work in I would feel great afterwards and i always find it easier when training with a friend.
Goal Achievement

Having a personal trainer is a great way to achieve your goals. Sitting down with a personal trainer in your first consultation is a great way for you to speak about your goals and why you want to achieve them. They will be able paint a pretty good picture by you identifying a variety of  areas from current fitness level, past fitness experience and by when you want to achieve your goals by. With this information they will be able to help break those goals down into smaller goals that will be specific making the bigger picture more achievable. A few examples of what I have worked with in the past are “I want to look good in my wedding dress in 6 months”, “I would love to be able to run a marathon in twelve months time.” These are very achievable when broken down into smaller monthly goals to hit the all important big day.
Personalised Workouts

It’s very easy in today’s world to access the internet, we do it every day with very little thought. So you can imagine how easy it is for someone to download a generic fitness programme and get going in a gym. Do they achieve results from this, maybe. Is it exciting to do the same thing day in day out for months on end, I don’t think so. Do they take into account your current fitness levels and goals, no.  A personal trainer makes the programme based around you and no one else.
Technique and Form

YouTube is amazing platform to watch exercise clips of “professionals “ demonstrate correct form but not everyone out there are able to do it correctly and filtering through all the bad videos to find one may prove time consuming. Downloading these videos and following them in the gym may actually cause injury especially when performing lifts like the deadlift, squats and Olympic lifts. There is no substitute to having a personal trainer by your side providing value and immediate feedback on your form and technique and most importantly prevent you from hurting yourself.

Good trainers are vigilant of your body, form and technique and able to make little cues to help you perform at your best meaning you will achieve your goals quicker. Doing the exercise correctly can help develop and improve posture, increase strength and develop that all important mind body connection. You are accountable for your form and technique and by learning from the best you can be safe when performing the exercises by yourself.

I love the idea of having someone with you to work on your form with you. This is a great way to make sure that you are getting the most out of those exercises. It will be a lot simpler for me to look into getting a personal fitness coach knowing this.
