When Are You Going To Start?
I have a friend who wanted to start some personal training sessions. However, he said he wanted to be fit before he started to do any sessions with a PT. In his head this made total sense. However, I'll tell you why that's not such a good idea.
This friend of mine, spent a lot of time on the website bodybuildingdotcom to look for the right free workout programme for him, he went on to various forums to read up on nutrition and asked people what the "best way" was for him to get fitter not to mention he watched a whole host of motivational videos to help him start his journey to become a better and fitter version of himself every Sunday saying "the new me starts tomorrow".
The problem with these free workout websites, they are very generic and who's to say you are doing the exercises correctly, not causing imbalances or even injuries.
6 months had passed and my friend had yet to start any form of workout out let alone change any of his old habits.
When he told me this story he added,
"If I had just started with a personal trainer, or asked you for help, or even just signed up to a bootcamp I would be six months ahead of where I am today."
Have you been delaying thinking that you need to know "the right way" before getting started? It's time to stop.
Sometimes all you need to do is find the closest outdoor fitness class, ask your PT friend for some sessions and start exercising the way your body craves.
